Nefertiti Painting by Tiago Azevedo Pop Surrealist Art 🦂
Nefertiti, Queen of Egypt and one of the most famous female rulers in history, partially clad in an opulent blue and gold embroidered gown, characteristic crown, and crown at the center of a splendid palace decorated with symbols. This painting has a delicate brushwork and a jewel-like palette.

This portrayal of her in a pop surrealist manner captures her mesmerizing glance that has intrigued so many admires in the world, as well as her sharp facial feature that are still a reference in the cosmetic subregions book. She is almost surprised to see the viewer, this surprise effect can be related to the fact that she is leaned in front of a blue wall to frame her royal pose. This shows a contrast between her great power and the vulnerability in her expression.

Nefertiti known as The beautiful one has come forth was the 14th-century BC Royal Wife of the Pharaoh Akhenaten. He initiated a new monotheistic form of worship called Atenism dedicated to the Sun disc Aten. Little is known about Nefertiti.

She could have been an Egyptian royal by birth or a foreign princess. who became pharaoh after Tutankhamun. She may have been the co-regent of Egypt with Akhenaten. Nefertiti bore six daughters to Akhenaten. While it was once thought that Nefertiti disappeared in the twelfth year of Akhenaten's reign because of her death or because she took a new name, she was still alive in the sixteenth year of her husband's reign. Nefertiti may have become a pharaoh in her own right for a short time after her husband's death. www.tiagoazevedo.com

Tatoo of Snow White by Tiago Azevedo Pop Surrealism 🍎

I have the greatest admiration for Tattoo artists, they create the most detailed and complex artwork in the noblest canvas of all – our skin. It is such a big commitment to have your favorite art piece engraved in you forever and that deserves my unconditional admiration.

This simple story of a charming princess saved by a group of seven adorable dwarfs and a prince from the evil deeds of her vain and wicked Stepmother the Queen, made history when it was first released in 1937 as the highest-grossing sound film of the time.

Now, this timeless story of love, envy, and friendship has been recreated in this vibrantly colorful painting of Snow White. This romantic scene takes place in the Forest of the kingdom’s surroundings, where Snow White and all of her friends are celebrating the defeat of the wicked Queen and reuniting of true love.

You can see her with a playful expression in a pop surrealist style and the apple on her hand showing off her innocence and purity o someone who has not let the evil that has past affect her trust in humankind. So we know she is about to bite the apple however we are put at ease by the knowledge that she will eventually wake up later and regain all this beauty she is exhibiting in this portrait. It is said the character of Snow White was based on the life of Margaretha von Waldeck, a German countess born to Philip IV in 1533. 🍎 www.tiagoazevedo.com 🍎

Video of Cleopatra Painting by Tiago Azevedo Lowbrow Art 🦋

Cleopatra, Queen of Egypt and one of the most famous female rulers in history, partially clad in an opulent white and gold embroidered gown, jeweled girdle, and crown at the center of a splendid palace decorated with hieroglyphs and marble. This painting has a delicate brushwork and a jewel-like palette.

Here the concept is to show her mesmerizing glance that seduced two of the most powerful rulers of the Roman Empire in a pop surrealist style. She is almost surprised to see the viewer, this surprise effect can be related to the fact that she is leaned in front of a wall to frame her royal pose. This shows a contrast between her great power and the vulnerability in her expression.

Cleopatra had good reason to be concerned that Rome would try to take over Egypt. She worked hard to create strong alliances with Rome's leaders. She offered them her financial support and resources such as grain, warships and soldiers. Egypt was an extremely rich country, and Rome began to depend on its wealth. 🦋 www.tiagoazevedo.com 🦋

CBAMR - Comic Book and Movie ReviewsART / WORK / LIFE - TIAGO AZEVEDO by David Andrews

CBAMR - Comic Book and Movie Reviews
ART / WORK / LIFE - TIAGO AZEVEDO by David Andrews
I was recently introduced to a brilliant Portuguese artist who specializes in painting portraits rather than objects, ranging from well-known historical figures all the way to mystical characters featured in pop culture. His name is Tiago Azevedo, he lives in Germany, and he was good enough to tell me about his life and career. Here, check this out...

1) Please tell us a little bit about yourself, Tiago.   I'm an artist who's decided to follow his dreams by dedicating my full attention to creating a life where my career is also my passion. I live my dreams every day and make a point of sharing that possibility with everyone that wants to live a life that's filled with joy and happiness.

2) What inspired you to become an artist?   Art has always been a part of me because it's the easiest way for me to express myself. This started with the desire to materialize the beauty I see in the world around me by transforming it into something tangible! That is what I do, I translate to the canvas my vision of what beauty really means to me.

3) What song would you say best represents your illustrative style and why?   That song would have to be “Un-Break My Heart” by Toni Braxton. Not for the sadness in the song. But rather, for the emotion in the song. The same strong emotion I feel when I produce my work, which hopefully, is the same emotion people will feel when they see it. It has become my mission in life -- to spread positivity across the world.

4) If you could get a celebrity – either living or dead – to promote your wares, who would you choose, and why would you want to choose this particular person?   That celebrity would definitely be Cher, because in my opinion, she's the epitome of beauty and strength, and subconsciously, I tend to use her as a reference for my paintings. Curiously enough, a lot of people recognize her in my work, even though it's not intentional.

5) If you had a personal motto, what would it be?   'Follow your dreams'! It may sound simple and generic, but you would be surprised at the number of people who do not have a clear and defined dream or goal. I feel that in this case, you should ask yourself every day what that dream might be and try as many new experiences as you can in order to start having a clearer idea. I believe that it's only when you have a purpose in life that you can live a complete and fulfilled life, and your dreams and desires are indicators of that purpose. 🧜 www.tiagoazevedo.com 🧚

FAIRY TALE BOOK ARTICLE 🧚

FAIRY TALE BOOK ARTICLE 🧚
Painter and architect, Tiago Azevedo already has a solid international career. Now the Azorean launches ‘The Tales of the Brothers Grimm’ and exhibits oil painting works in Portugal.

'The Tales of the Brothers Grimm' is the title of the first book by the painter and architect Tiago Azevedo.

With an extensive international career that led him to exhibit his oil paintings in Paris, New York, Rome, Cannes and Dubai, the 35-year-old Azorean also has a journey as an author, with the edition of this book.

Although he has not lived in the Azores for several decades, where he was born, the mystique of the fog and landscapes of the archipelago remains one of his great sources of inspiration and creativity. This element, together with the German folklore that he came to discover over the years, with its traditions, superstitions and legends, that led Tiago to paint a series of oil paintings, which he has decided to publish, together with a translation of the original version of tales.

“This book arose from the desire to compile my oil paintings in a format that could convey the literary component of my work, in this case the stories by the Brothers Grimm. I have always been passionate about fables, the imaginary and the fantasy inherent in these stories. In this book I condense all the magic of stories through my paintings, portraying their characters the way I always imagined them. Being close to Christmas, my favorite time of year, it becomes even more special. I feel the book as a gift that I share with people ”, explained Tiago Azevedo.

The launch of ‘The Tales of the Brothers Grimm’ took place on November, at the Foz Palace, where some of their original works were also be exhibited. It is on sale in several bookstores and outlets such as Fnac, Bertrand, Wook, Almedina, Bulhosa and El Corte Inglés. The ebook can be found on Amazon, Apple iBookstore, Barnes & Noble, Sony, Kobo, Diesel ebook Store and Baker & Taylor.

On his YouTube channel, Tiago Azevedo frequently publishes videos with his painting techniques, as well as biographies of the great masters of art, from Frida Kahlo to Salvador Dali and Albrecht Dürer, in a series of episodes dedicated to art history. 🧜 www.tiagoazevedo.com 🧚

Print of Lonely Mermaid Undersea by Tiago Azevedo

A darker mythology of the mermaid as an enchantress. Mermaids traditionally were sirens who lured sailors to their death through their captivating song. They were also tragic figures as mermaids could not survive in the human world which they yearned for and men could not exist in their watery realm, so any relationship was doomed.

This pop surrealist Mermaid painting no sailors are depicted so that despite being a 'siren' the mermaid is shown as an alluring rather lonely figure with fish traits such as the ears and gills instead of a fishtail that may or may not exist. The atmosphere evoked is one of gentle melancholy as the mermaid sits alone in an isolated inlet, dreamily showing out her long hair with her lips parted in song. Beside her are two red fishes that indicate she has control over marine animals as she does with sailors where it is believed that she turns their tears into precious pearls.

her wistful-sad look and the review remarked that it tells of the human longings never to be satisfied. The chill of the sea lies ever on her heart, the endless murmur of the waters is a poor substitute for the sound of human voices, never can this beautiful creature, troubled with emotion, experience on the one hand unawakened repose, on the other the joys of womanhood. 🧜‍♂️ www.tiagoazevedo.com 🧜‍♀️

Fairytale Series Interview on Tiago Azevedo

Fairytale Series Interview 🦋
Echo Boomer (EB) - Who is Tiago Azevedo?

Tiago Azevedo (TA) - I would like Tiago Azevedo to be remembered as a person who decided to follow his passion. I started studying architecture when I decided to pursue a profession. Of course, this was what society perceived as a career. A better career. However, it was not quite what I wanted since I always had a passion for the arts.

I was an architect for eight years. Then it got to a certain point where I moved to another country, more specifically to Germany, because there were very interesting job opportunities, but I still had the same unhappiness. This came from personal dissatisfaction. And I needed to make a personal and professional change. That's when I decided to start making the transition between architecture and painting.

It was a two-year process in which I worked as an architect and painter until painting took on proportions that took over my life. That's how I see myself, a person who followed his passion.

EB - How did the idea to conceive this book come about?

TA - I have always been passionate about the fantastic, for tales and fables. And when I was in Germany, I was immersed in all that German folklore. I grew more and more enthusiastic about the Brothers Grimm stories and that's why I decided to compile ten of their stories in this book. I had as main objective to maintain its original nature. These are darker and more haunting stories, but I made a point of maintaining originality and, with my paintings, bringing them to life.

The paintings may have that darker character, but this also has to do with my painting style that is part of pop surrealism, that is, the mixture of classical painting techniques from the height of the Baroque to the present day with contemporary concepts. And the physiognomy that you see in my characters is something that, today, we can see on the cover of a magazine... 🦋 www.tiagoazevedo.com 🦋

Rapunzel in an Emancipated Dream Painting by Tiago Azevedo

rapunzel in a red on sky background with a bird flying from her hand by tiago azevedo a lowbrow pop surrealism artist

Rapunzel in an Emancipated Dream Painting by TiagoAzevedo

This Rapunzel painting is a re-interpretation of the traditional fairytale story from the Brothers Grimm and joins other great titles in the Fairytale series. It has the message of following your dream reflecting a work of fantasy and romance. The reason why Rapunzel was locked in the tower was that the witch doesn't want the world to see her. She had her evil plans as she wanted Rapunzel's beauty to be hers.

This portrayal of her in a pop surrealist manner captures the contrast between her deep confinement in the tower and the newfound endless freedom of the bird. The bird is painted in the same color of her dress as it were a part of her reaching out for that freedom and love she so desperately desires.

The sky defines the vignettes of the image as if it were a dream of hers. Despite her imprisonment, she still has the sensual royal pose that is inherent to her seductive personality. This proves that no matter what our situation is we are not defined by it, showing that we decide who we are and how we present ourselves to the World. Even the smallest light can fill a darkened room and love can indeed conquer all.

The Desert of Queen Hatshepsut Painting by Tiago Azevedo

Painting of egyptian queen hatshepsut in a piramyd desert with luxurious jewlery by tiago azevedo a lowbrow pop surrealism artist

The Desert of Queen Hatshepsut Painting by Tiago Azevedo

This Queen herself created an amazingly realistic and almost hypnotizing effect in a pop surrealist style, pulling the viewer into the world of Queen Hatshepsut. Her lovely printed vest, a veritable peacock's plume in this incredibly powerful and lushly painted composition. The Egyptian Queen has powerful blue eyes, strikingly wistful visage that has become indelibly fixed in all her subject's minds.

Queen Hatshepsut reigned over Egypt for more than 20 years. She served as queen alongside her husband, Thutmose II, but after his death, she claimed the role of pharaoh while acting as regent to her step-son, Thutmose III. She reigned peaceably, building temples and monuments, resulting in the flourishing of Egypt. After her death, Thutmose III erased her inscriptions and tried to eradicate her memory.

Hatshepsut had been well trained in her duties as the daughter of the pharaoh. During her father's reign, she held the powerful office of God's Wife. She had taken a strong role as queen to her husband and was well experienced in the administration of her kingdom by the time she became pharaoh.

The Frog Princess and her Lover Painting by Tiago Azevedo

painting of the frog princess with a frog on her shoulder and royal jewlery by tiago azevedo a lowbrow pop surrealism artist

The Frog Princess and her Lover Painting by TiagoAzevedo

In the Frog Prince tale, a spoiled princess reluctantly befriends the Frog Prince, whom she met after dropping a gold ball into a pond and he retrieves it for her in exchange for her friendship. The Frog Prince magically transforms into a handsome prince after she kissed him.

In this pop surrealist painting, The Frog Princess is depicted at the center of the canvas as a stately beautiful girl, dressed in a beautiful gown and a regal pose with a slimy frog at her shoulder. Her hesitant expression and luxurious setting is meant to contrast with the not so attractive semblance  of the frog, who also sports a crown to indicate his claim to royalty.

Depicted at the time of her stay at the ball with the king. Right now she is demonstrating her amazing magic. The painted ornament on her collar and walls on the background, bordered by paintings aperture. The painting conveys the inspiration of folk art, all the beauty, and originality of the German fairytale people, telling the viewer about world magic.

The Slumber of Sleeping Beauty Painting by Tiago Azevedo

The Slumber of Sleeping Beauty Painting by TiagoAzevedo

Sleeping Beauty is a creation inspired in the Grimm Fairytales and the Disney movie interpretation. It is the most lavishly detailed of the series that I have painted to date including all my favorite elements of the big wide eyes interpreted in a Lowbrow Pop Surrealist manner.

This painting is filled with the enchantment of the original story in a pop surrealist way. From the medieval garments and jewelry that Briar Rose was gifted by the three good fairies to the magnificent castle where Princess Aurora would awaken to love's first kiss. then in the distance, we imagine the climactic fight between the good Prince Phillip and the evil Maleficent in dragon form. The original story is called The Sun, the Moon, and Talia, written, or at the least collected and composed, by the Italian poet Giambattista Basile.

The entire story was interpreted in a narrative portrait for all to enjoy. Of course central to the painting, and as a testament to the strength of true love, we can root for the prince and his awakened beauty in each other's arms as friends great and small gather in celebration of their undying devotion. Whether you are a fan of Sleeping Beauty or simply an unabashed romantic who believes love conquers all.

Cinderella and the Magic Shoe Painting by Tiago Azevedo

painting of cinderella with a golden shoe on a red pillow beside her by tiago azevedo a lowbrow pop surrealism artist

Cinderella and the Magic Shoe Painting by Tiago Azevedo

This painting illustrates the fairy tale Cinderella, or the Little Glass Slipper by Charles Perrault and the Brothers Grimm. First published in France in 1692 and a perennial favorite in English translation after 1729, Cinderella is the story of a beautiful girl mistreated by her family who ultimately wins a prince with a little help from her fairy godmother.

For this pop surrealist portrayal, focused on the poignant moment when the humble maid, denied an invitation to the royal ball, glances at the shoe that is about to change her life with hesitation and fear of the unknown while her vain step sisters primp in the background.

The painting displays the delicate glazes, cool palette, and fluid brushwork that is combined with a popular subject familiar to generations of viewers that grew up with this enchanting story.

The Snow Queen in a Blizzard Painting by Tiago Azevedo

painting of the snow queen in a snow storm around her by tiago azevedo a lowbrow pop surrealism artist

The Snow Queen in a Blizzard Painting by Tiago Azevedo

The Snow Queen is an original fairy tale written by Danish author Hans Christian Andersen. The tale was first published in 1844 and the story centers on the struggle between good and evil as experienced by Gerda and her friend, Kai.

In this pop surrealist painting, the idea is to portray her as being the snow itself, as if there is no separation between her and the matter she controls. Shee looks surprised to be captured for she is in a private moment, Her naked body contrasts with the cold snow around her and the light blue background. Icicles are growing right out of her head forming a crown, this shows that she can create anything out of snow and that snow is the only matter she needs. The simplicity of the scene is intended to highlight her beauty above all.

The story is one of Andersen's longest and most highly acclaimed stories. It is regularly included in selected tales and collections of his work and is frequently reprinted in illustrated storybook editions for children.

The Gaze of Queen Cleopatra Painting by Tiago Azevedo

painting of cleopatra with blue eyes a crown and hieroglyphs behind her by tiago azevedo a lowbrow pop surrealism artist

The Gaze of Queen Cleopatra Painting by Tiago Azevedo

Angel Gabriel in the Enchanted Woods Painting by Tiago Azevedo

painting angel gabriel in a forest with a red flower in the hand by tiago azevedo a lowbrow pop surrealism artist

Angel Gabriel in the Enchanted Woods Painting by TiagoAzevedo

Religious themes still causes the audience a lot of strong and bright feelings and underlines the quivering and subtle attitude to the issues of faith and spiritual salvation.

According to the Bible, angels are creatures created by God for spiritual ministry, they are endowed with tremendous knowledge about the world and human psychology, have special abilities to penetrate space and time, and perform certain functions in the service of the Lord. As follows from Genesis, the Psalter, the Gospel, people are angels in a human, usually masculine manner, but the Bible warns to make unequivocal judgments about their nature, since all these testimonies are rare and most often are human speculation.

In this painting done in a pop surrealist style The Angel, naked in a forest with a flower on her hands is taking the center stage. The face is expressing kindness and serenity, indicating the Kingdom of Heaven that spills onto the canvas. And if you look at the picture from afar, it seems that the figure of the angel dissolves against the background of the forest, and the beautiful wings, carefully drawn, belong to this heavenly creature.

Triumph of Princess Salome Painting by Tiago Azevedo

painting of red head salome with the head of john the Baptist in her hands by tiago azevedo a lowbrow pop surrealism artist

Triumph of Princess Salome Painting by Tiago Azevedo

Depicting Salome with the head of St. John the Baptist, this painting marked the beginning of a series of female power and women’s wiles. Salome, Judith, Dalila, Lucrecia, and other figures or scenes, highlighted by the beauty of the models and the black or dark background, exude eroticism, a characteristic feature of the painter’s universe.

In this painting, you can see her in a sensual pose with the head of John the Baptist almost as a prop in a pop surrealist way. This shows someone that has not a conscious understanding of the severity of what she has done. Her red dress and regal collar contrast with the dark background and especially with the greyish tone of the dead head of John the Baptist. The idea here is to contrast her beauty and innocent appearance with the dark act committed.

According to the Jewish historian Josephus, Salome is the daughter of Herodias and stepdaughter of Herod Antipas, ruler appointed by Rome of Galilee, a region in Palestine. In Biblical literature, Salome is remembered as the immediate agent in the execution of John the Baptist. She was twice married, first to the tetrarch Philip, a half brother of her father, Herod Philip, and a son of Herod I the Great and then to Aristobulus son of Herod of Chalcis.

Queen Elizabeth I and the Divine Painting by Tiago Azevedo

painting of Queen Elizabeth I with intense blue eyes a collar and pearls by tiago azevedo a lowbrow pop surrealism artist

Queen Elizabeth I and the Divine Painting by TiagoAzevedo

In this painting done in a pop surrealist style, Her bejeweled red hair and smooth, pale complexion give no clue to her age, nor the scars from smallpox she had suffered at 29. Her upright posture, open arms, and clear gaze all speak of vitality and strength, as does the crown to her right.

Elizabeth's lavish dress is, however, replete with meaning. Black and white, in this instance more of a warm grey, were her preferred colors for several reasons. White symbolized purity and virtue, and was expensive to maintain; black spoke of humility, but also authority and power, and required rare dyes. But those colors were also an allusion to Cynthia, the goddess of the moon, black for night, white for the pearl-like moon, the subject of Raleigh's lengthy poem The Oceans Love to Cynthia, which celebrates the Queen as such a deity.

Then there are the abundant pearls, visual metaphors for the moon in themselves with which she is draped, also symbolic of her chastity. But pearls are not the only astronomical reference, there are numerous suns to signify power and enlightenment, embroidered in gold.

Rise of the Little Fairy Painting by Tiago Azevedo

painting of a baby fairy flying with pink wings by tiago azevedo a lowbrow pop surrealism artist

Rise of the Little Fairy Painting by Tiago Azevedo

Set at twilight in a dark wood this scene represents the first flight of an infant fairy painted in a pop surrealist style. All is rendered with breathtaking, meticulous attention to detail, the woodland scene with imaginary fairies, making a link with ancient Celtic beliefs, folklore, and chivalry in a typically mid-Victorian way.

Belief in fairies, folklore, and the world of the supernatural still held sway in polite society of 18th- and 19th-century Scotland. This also makes an allusion to the fairy rade or parade of fairies with the changeling legend, where fairies would carry off a new-born, leaving a fairy baby as a substitute.

Various folk theories about the origins of fairies include casting them as either demoted angels or demons in a Christian tradition, as minor deities in Pagan belief systems, as spirits of the dead, as prehistoric precursors to humans, or as elementals.

The Offspring and the Butterfly Painting by Tiago Azevedo

painting of two little sisters chasing a butterfly by tiago azevedo a lowbrow pop surrealism artist

The Offspring and the Butterfly Painting by TiagoAzevedo

The love of everything that is joyous, brilliant, and consoling in life explains why Two Sisters is such a popular painting. Here is depicted the radiance of two lovely young children on a warm and beautiful day. The older girl, with a more tamed hairdo alluding to her personality, is posed in the right of the evocative landscape where a butterfly passes by don in a pop surreal way.

She gazes absently beyond her younger companion, who seems, in a charming visual conceit, to have a free spirit and vivid imagination chasing after the butterfly. Technically, like a stage set, this seems a realm of pure vision and fantasy, holding the bright, pure pigments of the painting. Although the girls were not actually sisters, for this is loosely inspired in the fairy tale of mother hole, their bond and proximity are clear in the composition.

Aristotle gave the butterfly the name psyche, the Greek word for soul. Many cultures relate butterflies to the human soul. In ancient Greek the word for butterfly is psyche which means soul, and was also the name of Eros' human lover.

The Trial of Marie Antoinette Painting by Tiago Azevedo

painting marie antoinette in a red dress and yellow backgound by tiago azevedo a lowbrow pop surrealism artist

The Trial of Marie Antoinette Painting by TiagoAzevedo

A new portrait of the Queen wearing the Gaulle or blouse dress. Adapted to Parisian fashion by the dressmaker Rose Bertin, this muslin dress was the Queen’s favorite one during her stays at the Petit Trianon, away from the court. The Queen is in an authority pose with a sensual and flirtatious gaze in a classic red silk dress, marking the implicit support of Marie-Antoinette for the silk-weavers of Lyon depicted in a pop surreal way.

She was born in Vienna in 1755and she married the future French king Louis XVI when she was just 15 years old. In 1793, the king was executed, then Marie Antoinette was arrested and tried for trumped-up crimes against the French republic and was convicted and sent to the guillotine. This is a sad ending to such a luxourious and lavish life, showing that we should appreciate all the good we have for nothing is certain except who we are.

Marie Antoinette lived during what designers call the French neoclassical period, or Louis XVI era, which she helped shape and bring into style. The neoclassical period took its cues from ancient Greece and Egypt while adding its own flair.

Mary Magdalene in Repent Painting by Tiago Azevedo

Mary Magdalene in Repent Painting by Tiago Azevedo

A poster child for penance is Mary Magdalene’s most successful look, however, was that of the paradigm of penitence. Any starlet can rock gowns and accessories, but it takes a very special lady to make repentance look good. Pope Saint Gregory the Great saw her great potential to show the beautiful side of penitence when in 591 he conflated her with the adulterous woman and the woman saved from seven demons.

Who else could show the world that saying you’re sorry is empowering and beautifying? We all love the Penitent Magdalene. Here depicted as a siren whose evident beauty is now for God alone, a woman whose beautiful bone structure remains visible despite her emaciated form painted in a pop surrealist style, and whose powerful blue gaze emanates a glowing life and energy. Here a contemplative Magdalene learning about the Lord who has cast all her worldly possessions that only brought her emptiness in her life.

According to Ross King, an expert on Italian art, Mary Magdalene's appearance at the last supper would not have been controversial and Leonardo would have had no motive to disguise her as one of the other disciples, since she was widely venerated in her role as the Apostle to the Apostles.

Napoleon at War Painting by Tiago Azevedo

Napoleon at War Painting by Tiago Azevedo

Careful examination of the details embedded in this portrait reveals Napoleon as a politically powerful icon. He is placed in the center of a vertical canvas dressed in his uniform as a colonel of the Foot Grenadiers of the Imperial Guard. His pose, the slightly pushes back shoulders and an oculus in his hand, contrasts to the formality of his costume.

In addition, his youthful look depicted here, and intense expression was designed to show that Napoleon was an imposing leader capable of composing the Napoleonic Code. Ecce Homo Presented to the Crowd Painting by TiagoAzevedo

Ecce Homo is a depiction of the flagellated Christ presented to the masses by Pontius Pilate, whose visage, at the upper left, is a study of disdainful indifference. Restrained by ropes, his face bowed in gentle acceptance of his fate. Christ's nude body contorted with a physically impossible but not inelegant torsion is bathed in a golden light.

Consistent with the spiritually instructive goals of ecclesiastical art of the Counter-Reformation, everything in this painting is intended to heighten its emotional charge and to underline especially the contrast between the noble pathos of Christ's suffering and the black background which also informs the compositional structure don in a pop surrealist way. There is no illusion of deeply receding space in an atmosphere of dramatic emotionalism and expansive theatricality with a soft, light brushstroke.

The concept of the Christ in Christianity originated from the concept of the messiah in Judaism. Christians believe that Jesus is the messiah foretold in the Hebrew Bible and the Christian Old Testament.

It is important to note that the bare chest symbolizes passion, lust depicted vividly. The background of this canvas is rather gloomy, made in dark shades. The light falls only on the face, as if highlighting and emphasizing it. The color scheme conveys the mood, setting the character of the picture.

This painting is an interpretation of Genesis in which Eve is blamed for accepting the forbidden fruit, although the type of fruit is not stated, tradition opts for an apple and there is a reference to a second tree, a fig, whose leaves are used by Adam and Eve to cover their nakedness.

Adam appears as more upright, with his torso more twisted to one side and his right arm more angled. Eve is also slightly turned with the action of taking the apple was the result of temptation and not Eve´s own initiative whose consumption triggers the dramatic events that follow.
